How I managed not to flatten my husband

creation 2015

The couple turned inside and out! Anne and François Lopez, brother and sister in everyday life, come together on stage along with three associates to shake up our notion of married life with all its myths. After the spectacular display that was 'Miracle' with its fifty players, this new creation signs a return towards the intimate. In this creation they are accompanied by regular members of the company and continue to question the concept of "being together". Minimalist scenography, live music, an ultra-light sound and lighting set… the spotlight is ever brighter.

The pranks and codes of Vaudeville are mastered by two couples and a single woman (the one who already flattened her husband!) playing out our spirits. In a few movements, fewer words and with joyful energy they unravel the thread of our desires, caricature our
cowardice and our passionate surges and give pride of place to our hearts' inclination for eternal love.
A kaleidoscopic vision of human feelings, this spirited creation mirrors our daily lives, as one might turn the pages of an anonymous family album - curious reflexion of our own destiny. She appears as hysterical or resigned, just as the 'perfect man' becomes a 'man-object'. They are in opposition and they are magnetised, to the burlesque counterpoint where the hidden monstrosity in each of us appears. Reality is sent into a tailspin and the imaginary takes over. LES GENS DU QUAI are ever faithful to their sense of humour
